The history of the Herbal Order dates back to four epochs ago (each epoch is defined as a cycle of Earth’s formation and destruction). It was founded by the Medicine Buddha in the Nine Heavens, thus belonging to the Buddhist school and falling under the lineage of the Medicine Buddha.
Disciples of the Herbal Order in the Higher Realm practiced cultivation, propagated the Dao, and treated illnesses, gradually growing into a substantial sect. Among the numerous sects in the Nine Heavens, where mutual exchanges and debates of doctrines were common, the Herbal Order experienced nine ups and downs before finally stabilizing and becoming the foremost sect across the Three Realms.
Branches of the Herbal Order were established in the First to the Seventh Heavens respectively. The Earthly Branch of the Herbal Order is situated in the Seventh Heaven, with its herbal garden located on the fourth level of the Seventh Heaven. As of now, no branches have been set up in the Eighth and Ninth Heavens. To this day, the total number of its disciples, cultivators, immortals, and semi-immortals has exceeded tens of millions.
Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the Herbal Order waited in the mortal world for over 300 years, seeking out potential disciples and destined ones. On the third day of the third lunar month in 2019, the Earthly Branch of the Herbal Order was officially founded.
The order has a clear hierarchy consisting of a Sect Leader, Elders, Disciples, and Herbal Apprentices. All members of the Herbal Order cultivate their spiritual powers, study the medical knowledge passed down from the Higher Realm branch as well as the pathology of mortal ailments, heal the sick and save the dying, and carry forward the profound heritage of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
